About AgPlus.

AgPlus is a company that specializes in the commercial distribution and processing of grain. The AgPlus cooperative is headquartered in South Whitley, Indiana. The company operates eight different grain elevators in a number of small communities scattered across northeast Indiana. AgPlus purchases grain directly from individual farmers and then sells it to mills and processors across the Midwest.

Their Need.

AgPlus had put together a run of very successful and profitable years. As the business grew more and more profitable, the continuing expansion caused the company to rapidly outgrow the office and administration space available at the elevator site. There was no room for frequent client meetings and staff members were practically "sitting on top of each other" according to the management. To grow, they needed to expand, and rapidly, to capitalize on the busy summer and autumn seasons.

Our Solution.

Whitley Manufacturing designed and built a 1,600 square foot building with a central conference room, a professional reception area, a break room and three additional private offices. The building was designed to easily join with their existing facility. The facility was constructed, assembled and open for business within 100 days. The exterior of the building utilizes a number of modern construction techniques and materials to deliver durability and a refined aesthetic. Stucco-finish panelling, a thin-brick wainscot and stacked trim at the mansard, roofline and edging the windows, give the building the visual appeal that AgPlus sought. Staff members now have an environment that is conducive to planning, contract signings and other meetings with clients and customers.
