About St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

St. Elizabeth's is a nonprofit, acute care, Catholic community hospital licensed for 550 beds and 60 bassinets. As a member of Humility of Mary Health Partners, it offers the technology of a large university-affiliated hospital, while still providing the personal touch of a community health care facility. St. Elizabeth's offers medical/surgical, intensive, intermediate, maternity, neonatal intensive, pediatric and psychiatric inpatient care, as well as inpatient and outpatient surgery and 24-hour emergency services. St. Elizabeth's serves as a regional referral center for high-risk maternity and cardiology, and is the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the area.

The Problem.

Directors decided to test the Youngstown market to determined if an emergency and diagnostic care facility was needed. They would need a building fully equipped with x-ray equipment, a CT scanner and a lab. The building would also require an elaborate power supply with back-up generators and numerous dedicated lines to insure uninterrupted service to patients, as well as dedicated HVAC units to acclimatize various rooms independently. Because the temporary building was required for a market assessment it had to be done quickly and very cost effectively.

Our Solution.

Our building more than adequately served all of the needs the hospital leadership expected. Technically, it functioned perfectly. It was aesthetically pleasing both inside and out. In fact, it became so valuable to the community that the actual traffic far exceeded anticipated figures. The 8,000 square foot building was constructed off-site, delivered to site and finished in a short eight months.
