The Challenge
The town of Wainane on the island of Oahu, Hawaii needed affordable housing for some of their residents in need. With a challenging job-site, and transportation requirements not of the typical modular construction job, our Whitley Evergreen facility located in Marysville, Washington was picked to take on this unique challenge.
The Solution
The village was built using state-of-the-art Modular Building techniques in Marysville, WA and the units were transported to the island aboard cargo ships. This partnership with Hawaii Modular is the second affordable housing project completed by the partnership of independent companies. The duplex units are a five-million-dollar village that will provide housing to sixteen families and features Americans With Disabilities Act accessibility features such as wider doors and ramps. The accessibility features ensure every family that moves in will be able to open their doors to their Ohana (family) regardless of physical limitations.
